ROUND ABOUT CHOPIN

Das internationale Festival „ROUND ABOUT CHOPIN“ wird anlässlich des Chopinjahres vom Polnischen Institut initiiert. In Kooperation mit Kulturinstituten und Botschaften aus 15 Ländern werden zeitgenössische Interpretationen des polnischen Ausnahmekomponisten im Haus der Musik, Porgy & Bess und dem Institut Français de Vienne (Palais Clam Gallas) präsentiert.

150 Years of GUSTAV MAHLER

Haus der Musik's exhibition space offers insight into his life and work
July 7, 2010 marks Gustav Mahler's 150th anniversary. The forest - nature as a place of retreat and inspiration - characterizes the exhibition space created by Peter Mahler, the artist's grandnephew. The exhibition contrasts Mahler's work as a conductor with his life as a composer, focusing on his bearing as director of the Vienna Court Opera, on the one hand, and his role as composer and family man on the other. The tension between the artist's public and private creations lies at the centre of the exposition.

10 Years Haus der Musik

From June 1 - 10, the sound museum celebrated its 10-year anniversary. We spent ten busy days, offering a high-calibre series of events. Our line-up included everything from children's concerts with Marko Simsa and Bernhard Fibich, to performances by local talents like Clara Luzia and international artists like Sophie Hunger, William Fitzsimmons, Giant Sand and many more.
