Haydn, Hellsberg, a bright summer
HAUS DER MUSIK summer programme
Summer is the time for festivals, music in the open-air or in shady arcades and courtyards. This year summer is also Haydn Year. "The rediscovery of a revolutionary", as he is described by the Austrian conductor Nikolaus Harnoncourt, who rightly and tirelessly seeks to present "Old Haydn" in a new light.
This summer HAUS DER MUSIK will be focusing on Haydn, kids and a "cool museum experience", even when the temperature outside is 30°C or more.
The popular Live on Stage concerts will continue this summer and there will also be free Haydn concerts in the foyer, an interesting Haydn installation "Eine Haydn-Arbeit", and various rare items on display in the Haydn room of the museum. Tours for children entitled "Ein Haydn-Spass" are also available at special rates as part of the Vienna Ferienspiel.
We would also like to recommend the Open-Air Cinema in Vienna, one of the many festivals taking place in Austria, or a visit to Mozarthaus Vienna, our partner museum, taking advantage of the attractive combination tickets.
Last but not least, we include in this newsletter an interview with Dr. Clemens Hellsberg, CEO of the Vienna Philharmonic, who has been involved in communicating music to children and juveniles for years. The interactive Virtual Conductor, an installation with the Philharmonic Orchestra, is one of the highlights of the Sound Museum.
