Manchester-born James Harries is a singer-songwriter and film composer
who splits his time between the UK and the Czech Republic.
He is known for his eclectic songwriting and stunning live performances and has spent the
last 20 years touring internationally (UK, Europe, USA and Asia).
Harries has enjoyed mainstream radio success across Europe, amassed millions of Spotify streams and
received critical acclaim.
It's his 10th solo album, a lush alternative folk-pop record, a triumph of understated
grace. It was received with great empathy in his adopted country as "Album of the Week" in the
Czech music press and the single "Diamond Girl" was played on a number of radio stations (national
and local), as well as in the USA and the Netherlands.
"This is my post-Covid/post-accident therapy album," jokes Harries, "I escaped to a friend's remote house
in the mountains to record a long list of songs I'd written
over an 18-month period when I couldn't tour. It's
probably the most intimate and uncompromising record I've made so far.
It was supposed to be a solo record, but then I met friends from the Czech
Philharmonic Orchestra, got two more friends to play drums and added guitar to a few
songs. In the end, the record took on a life of its own."
