Cara Rose is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter from Glasgow, Scotland. Through soulful reflection, Cara explores what it means to navigate life as a young woman in such uncertain times. She has won over fans of all ages as she honed her craft in Glasgow's concert venues. Cara's direct, passionate, and insightful lyrics are distinctly Glasgow, and she doesn't hold back as she tackles themes such as love, life, and her place in the world.

Her debut single, “Learn to Speak,” a tale of rebellion and determination, solidified the growing hype surrounding one of the country’s brightest young talents. It garnered editorial support from Spotify, racked up over 2.5 million streams, and won her fans in her native Scotland, across Europe, and in North America. Developing her minimalist meditations further, Cara ventured into the studio in early 2020 with acclaimed producer Matt Ingram (Lianne La Havas, Laura Marling) to begin work on her debut EP, “Urges,” which was released in October 2020 to palpable enthusiasm.

After spending lockdown with her family in a small coastal town in western Scotland, Cara began writing her most expressive and introspective work to date, culminating in a new EP of delicate piano ballads that showcase a talent far beyond her years. Released in November 2021, "How It Feels" revealed the young songwriter at her most vulnerable lyrically, readily drawing on her jazz influences, which formed the soundtrack to much of her childhood. In 2022, the young songwriter supported fellow Scottish artist Emeli Sandé at Oran Mor in Glasgow, leading to two sold-out headlining shows at The Blue Arrow in Glasgow.

With her new single “Lovin’”, Cara continued her stripped-down approach, featuring heartfelt lyrics that celebrate her love for her mother, a rock in her personal and creative life, whose support is crucial for the young woman Cara has become. Following the release of the next single, the neo-soul track “Romanticising”, Cara played her biggest gig to date, selling out the 600-capacity Saint Luke’s in Glasgow.

Cara was musically gifted from a young age and nurtured her love of music from the bottom of her heart. Her sound is reminiscent of artists such as Amy Winehouse, Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, Joan Armatrading, and John Martyn.
