Since the opening in 2000 - five years later, Vienna Holding took over the company - the number of visitors has doubled to more than 243,000 people per year. Many guests are tourists and school children. Most visitors come from Austria, followed by Germany and the USA.

In Mexico, Puebla, a similar museum was built after a license. In 2023 a cooperation started in China, where a sound museum is also built. In addition, the House of Music is ambassador and partner of the "Lang Lang International Music Foundation", which brings music closer to children and gives access to instruments.
