The Australian sister duo Charm of Finches captivates with artful folk-pop that is both graceful and mysteriously dark. Their characteristic "blood harmonies" weave melancholy and wonder into a soundscape that deeply touches the listener and lingers long after the last note fades.
Sisters Mabel and Ivy Windred-Wornes have toured extensively throughout the UK, Europe, and Canada in recent years. Following the international success of their fourth studio album, Marlinchen In The Snow (2024), they return with their new single, “Meteor” —inspired by the forces of nature reflecting a turbulent inner universe. Recorded on the Victorian coast and mixed by renowned producer Daniel Ledwell in Canada, “Meteor” kicks off a series of new releases planned for 2026.
Charm of Finches have received numerous awards, including the Australian Folk Music Award for Best Folk Album (2022) and the Music Victoria Award for Best Folk Act (2021) . They have also been nominated for the Australian Music Prize twice.
The international press is enthusiastic:
“Wonderful Oblivion is a triumphant indie folk effort – nostalgic yet fresh, haunting, but at the same time serene.” – We Found New Music
“Melbourne sister duo Charm of Finches are perched for stardom…” – Ariana Morgenstern, KCRW Today's Top Tune
