Music that connects
There's music you hear – and music you feel. Darling West create the latter. Their songs evoke endless roads, campfires under a starry sky, and freedom. With a sound that blends acoustic depth with electric energy and is carried by heavenly harmonies, they invite their audience on a journey.
For years they have conquered the stages of their native Norway as well as those in the USA, Germany and the Netherlands. Their interplay is playful and precise at the same time, powerful and sensitive. Some compare them to a modern Fleetwood Mac, others consider them among the best live bands in Norway.
But labels are ultimately irrelevant. Because music is emotion. Darling West touch their audience with songs that open the heart – with humor, with honesty, with warmth. They make their audience laugh, sometimes even cry. Above all, they ensure that you go home after a concert with a feeling of lightness.
Indie pop, Laurel Canyon folk, Nordicana – genres are just labels. In the end, only one thing matters: music that connects people.
Support Act: Kathrina Hughes.
Having honed her skills early in the pubs of Ireland, Kathrina Hughes now brings folk and blues to the stages of Vienna and beyond. The Irish singer-songwriter sings about life in her songs, as banal and yet profound as it often seems, accompanying herself on guitar. Kathrina Hughes was also the winner of our last (autumn) edition of Blue Bird Stage and is increasingly establishing herself as a well-known and popular singer-songwriter in the city.
is curated Live on Stageby Klaus Totzler (Blue Bird Vienna).
