Manchester-born James Harries is a singer-songwriter and film composer
who divides his time between the UK and the Czech Republic.
Known for his eclectic songwriting and stunning live performances, he has
spent the last 20 years touring internationally (UK, Europe, USA, and Asia).
Harries has enjoyed mainstream radio success across Europe, amassed millions of Spotify streams, and
garnered critical acclaim.
It is his 10th solo album, a lush alternative folk-pop record, a triumph of understated
grace. It was received with great enthusiasm in his adopted homeland, being named "Album of the Week" in the
Czech music press, and the single "Diamond Girl" received airplay on numerous radio stations (both national
and local), as well as in the USA and the Netherlands.
“This is my post-Covid/post-accident therapy album,” Harries jokes. “I
escaped to a friend’s remote house in the mountains to record a long list of songs I
’d written over an 18-month period when I couldn’t tour. It’s
probably the most intimate and uncompromising record I’ve ever made.
It was originally intended to be a solo album, but then I met up with friends from the Czech
Philharmonic, brought in two more friends who played drums, and added guitar to a few
songs. In the end, the album took on a life of its own.”
