Behind the indie project Night Teacher is the American songwriter and singer Lilly Bechtel. In her music, she combines personal experiences, poetic songwriting, and atmospheric indie sound into an intense soundscape.
Her second album, "Year of the Snake," released by First City Artists, deals with change, renewal, and personal development. The motif of the shed snake serves as a symbolic thread throughout the album.
As Night Teacher, Bechtel has released two albums to date, garnering international attention. Atwood Magazine and Glide Magazine praised her compelling songwriting, while Stereogum, NPR, MAGNET Magazine, and The Current also featured Year of the Snake.
