An indie folk project from Montreal, guided by the singer, songwriter and producer Jon Matte. What once started as a community of friends and musicians has developed into a project that captivates with its intimate and soulful sound fans worldwide.
Jon's profound texts research topics such as self -discovery, relationships and the complexity of human existence. The band was nominated for the Juno Award in 2019 as Breakthrough Group of the Year and received adisq nomination for the Anglophone Performance of the Year in 2024-a proof of its growing importance in the music scene.
After the publication of Oh Brother in 2023, a very personal album that reflects Jon's relationship with his brother and raises awareness of mental health, The Franklin Electric published Victory Songs in August 2024 (Vol. 1) . This EP illuminates topics such as decisions and the real consequences of profits and lose.
In May 2025, the full album Victory Songs be released, which will further deepen the unique, narrative sound of the band. With every new publication, The Franklin Electric invites its audience to a moving, musical journey that has a long time.
