A new eye-catcher in the House of Music
To mark its 25th anniversary, the museum is setting a colorful example for the present and future: Upper Austrian graffiti and mural artist MAX ROCKS Johann Strauss ’s room with a large-format mural – lively, playful and full of energy.

MAX ROCKS, whose works already adorn numerous Viennese walls, interprets the lively music of Johann Strauss in a visually captivating imagery in the new mural.
Instead of a classic portrait, visitors can expect a collage-like Gesamtkunstwerk (total work of art ) that captures the essence of the Waltz King in vibrant colors, dynamic detail, and rich in detail. Past and present merge into a lively composition that invites you to experience music in a new way.

The mural is part of a comprehensive redesign of the permanent exhibition on Level 3, which is dedicated to the great masters of Viennese Classicism. Following the opening of the new Schubert room , the entire Strauss area is now being . The other composer rooms will also be gradually redesigned over the coming months while the museum remains open.
