As an important cultural institution, we see it as our responsibility not only to preserve and impart knowledge and art, but also to contribute to protecting the environment for ourselves and future generations. Especially since extreme heat waves, droughts, and heavy rainfall events are no longer uncommon in our latitudes, and experts are increasingly pointing to the consequences and challenges they present, the urgent need for action is becoming visible and tangible even to laypeople.
By being certified with the Austrian Ecolabel, we are sending a clear signal that we take ecological responsibility and are actively working to scrutinize our processes, optimize procedures, and manage our resources as environmentally friendly as possible. The Ecolabel award confirms our efforts and motivates us to continue investing in a sustainable future and to continuously improve.
We carry the environmental label because, as a House of Music, we recognize our responsibility for protecting the environment and want to contribute to reducing environmental pollution and promoting sustainability.
We have already implemented the following for the environment / for the environmental label:
- When purchasing new goods, increasing attention is being paid to durability, reusability, and recyclability. Where possible, regional products are used or local companies are commissioned.
- Due to increasing digitalization, administrative work is becoming increasingly paperless, thus saving valuable resources. Our newsletter is sent exclusively in digital form to interested parties. Printed materials, such as flyers and brochures, are produced largely on recycled paper.
- When cleaning, we try to use natural products whenever possible.
- To encourage our guests to travel in a climate-friendly way, our homepage only lists travel options using public transport.
Promoting environmental awareness and sustainability:
As the House of Music, we are actively committed to environmental protection and promote sustainable practices, demonstrating that we take our responsibility towards the environment and future generations seriously. Our certification with the Austrian Ecolabel shows that cultural institutions also bear a social responsibility and actively embrace it. This can motivate other institutions to take similar steps and thus achieve a greater positive impact on the environment.
Certification with the Austrian Ecolabel also means a review of relevant processes, optimization of operational procedures, improvement of energy efficiency, reduction of waste, and overall more sustainable operations. In the long term, these measures not only bring ecological benefits but can also lead to economic savings.
The environmental label also serves as a quality indicator and can thus strengthen the trust and loyalty of visitors. Furthermore, the House of Music positions itself as an attractive partner for collaborations with companies and organizations that also promote sustainability in their business practices.
Integrating sustainability and environmental protection into the institution also ensures its future viability. Early certification helps the House of Music not only meet these requirements but exceed them, thus securing a leading role in cultural sustainability in the long term.
