This autumn we celebrate a very special anniversary: For 25 years, Marko Simsa has been delighting visitors to the House of Music. As one of Austria's most renowned music educators, he understands like few others how to inspire children and families with the world of music.
The Vienna-based musician, actor, and author uses his concerts, books, and audio productions to present classical music in a lively, entertaining, and easily understandable way. In doing so, he builds bridges between the great works of music history and young listeners.

The concert hall at the House of Music in Vienna is an ideal venue for family concerts. Here, visitors experience our diverse programs in a personal setting that fosters a sense of connection: Together we listen to music, sing, dance, clap, and share the joy of it. I've been performing here for 25 years and therefore feel almost at home. Many wonderful memories have been made during this time. From Mozart to Klezmer, from boogie-woogie to sounds from the Orient or rhythms from the Andes – the musical range we present here could hardly be more diverse.
The House of Music has also been the venue for several premieres and world premieres for us, including Keyboard Magic – Piano Hits for Children (2004), The Colorful Camel (2016), Mr. Beethoven Makes Music (2020), and the quintet version of Hans in Luck (2023). I have performed here with my colleagues more than 500 times. My anticipation for the coming years is all the greater – and especially for our small SIMSA Festival in November, where we will celebrate 25 years of successful collaboration with the House of Music.
