House of Music in conversation: Simon Posch on Klassik Radio Deutschland
The House of Music in Vienna recently had the wonderful opportunity to be featured on Klassik Radio Deutschland, broadcast throughout the DACH region (Germany, Austria, Switzerland). Director Simon Posch was personally present at the studio in Augsburg to provide fascinating insights into the current and future developments of the institution.
A look into the future – the 25th anniversary
In 2025, the House of Music will celebrate its 25th anniversary – a significant milestone! Preparations for an eventful anniversary year are already in full swing. Simon Posch spoke about planned celebrations and new initiatives that visitors can expect in the coming months.
Redesign of the exhibition spaces – Franz Schubert & Co. in focus
Another highlight of the recording was the renovation and redesign of the exhibition spaces. The museum's third floor is currently undergoing extensive, phased modernization while remaining open to the public, beginning with the room dedicated to Franz Schubert. This room will be officially opened to the public on December 17, 2024. The aim is to make Schubert's musical world even more immersive for visitors. Stay tuned, because in 2025 the team at the House of Music will begin work on the next rooms. The first of these will be dedicated to the Waltz King and featured composer of the year – Johann Strauss II!
Inclusion at the House of Music
The House of Music is setting a clear example for accessibility and inclusion. Simon Posch emphasized the importance of making a museum accessible to everyone. Therefore, inclusive tours are offered for people with visual or hearing impairments. These tours allow them to experience music and sound in innovative and diverse ways.

In addition to the exhibitions, Simon Posch spoke about the impressive variety of concerts that take place at the House of Music. From classical performances to innovative formats – the concert program has something special in store for all music lovers.
